Intro
The Venice Marathon is a unique marathon that combines sport and culture in a spectacular way. The course starts at Villa Pisani on the Riviera del Brenta, a region known for its historic villas and picturesque surroundings. The first kilometers are flat and fast, ideal for finding a good rhythm right away.
After passages through Marghera and Mestre, one of the most impressive parts of the course follows: the 4-kilometer-long Ponte della Libertà. This bridge connects the mainland to the historic center of Venice and offers an extraordinary view of the lagoon. Once arrived in the city, the most iconic part awaits: narrow streets, atmospheric squares and even a specially constructed temporary bridge over the Grand Canal.
The finish on Riva Sette Martiri, overlooking the water and historic buildings, makes for an unforgettable finale. The marathon takes place in October, with generally mild temperatures around 10-18°C. A mostly flat course, excellent organization and a unique setting make Venice a marathon you must have run at least once in your life.
