Intro
The Istanbul Marathon is without a doubt one of the most unique marathons in the world. It is the only marathon where you literally run from one continent to another: from Asia to Europe.
After a transfer to the start on the Asian side of the city, the adventure begins with a spectacular passage across the Bosphorus Bridge. As you cross the Bosphorus, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Istanbul skyline. Next, the trail passes world-famous landmarks such as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque) and the impressive Hagia Sophia.
The finish line is in the historic Sultanahmet district, right in the heart of old Istanbul. The marathon takes place in November, with generally mild temperatures around 12-18°C. Is the marathon distance too long? Then the 15 km is also an excellent alternative during this special event.
