Intro
The Madrid Half Marathon is one of the largest and most popular half marathons in Spain and, like the marathon and 10 km, is part of the energetic Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series. With thousands of participants and live music along the course, this race guarantees a sporting and festive experience in the Spanish capital.
The first 17 kilometers are identical to the marathon course and take you past impressive locations such as the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and the green Parque del Retiro. The opening kilometers have a gradual climb, which immediately provides a sporting challenge. After about 4 kilometers, the profile becomes friendlier and runners can find their pace on a relatively flat continuation through wide avenues and characteristic city neighborhoods.
The half marathon takes place in spring, with generally pleasant temperatures around 10-18°C. The combination of music, crowds, iconic landmarks and a challenging but fast course makes Madrid an ideal destination for those who want to run a half marathon with character as well as atmosphere.
