Intro
The Lanzarote Half Marathon offers a beautiful coastal route and is part of the Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon. Participants are taken by transfer to the start in Puerto del Carmen, the point where marathon runners make the turnaround towards Costa Teguise.
The course is identical to the second half of the marathon and runs along the coastline with almost constant views of the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, runners face some elevation changes, making the race challenging and varied. Halfway through you pass Arrecife, after which the course winds further toward the finish in Costa Teguise.
The half marathon takes place in December, with generally pleasant temperatures around 18-22°C. Thanks to the mild climate, open landscape and relaxed island atmosphere, this is an excellent race to end the running year sportily.
