Itinerary

Intro

Want an accessible running trip to the sun without immediately running a half or full marathon? The Lanzarote 10K is a great opportunity to end the year sportily in the Canary Islands. During the Font Vella Lanzarote International Marathon on Saturday, December 5, 2026, the 10K will be an atmospheric part of an international running weekend with runners from different countries. According to the current program, the 10K starts at 12:00 noon in Arrecife.

The course takes you over asphalt along the coast towards the finish in Costa Teguise. Along the way you will run with views of the Atlantic Ocean, the boardwalk and the open volcanic landscape that makes Lanzarote so recognizable. The route is doable for recreational runners, but the seaside location, wind and some slight elevation changes keep it a real race experience.

Even outside the running event, Lanzarote is a fine destination for a short sporting break. You will find black lava fields, rugged coasts, white villages and sunny terraces where you can relax after the race. Thanks to December's mild climate, the trip feels like a welcome break from the Dutch winter, with plenty of room for relaxation and island experiences.

This trip is suitable for runners who want to combine an achievable distance with sun, atmosphere and a special finish line experience. Whether you are running your first foreign 10 kilometers, joining travel companions at the start or just looking for an active weekend away: with Loopreizen you travel to Lanzarote relaxed. Check out the options and run with the Lanzarote 10K.
