Intro
The Reykjavik 10K is an accessible and atmospheric distance within the Reykjavik Marathon weekend. This 10 kilometers combines the lively city center with impressive nature, giving you a complete picture of the Icelandic capital in a short time.
The course takes you past picturesque Tjörnin in the old town. Here you walk past the modern Reykjavik City Hall, which is strikingly built into the lake. Then the route heads toward the coastline, where you will be treated to fresh sea air and sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Part of the route toward Seltjarnarnes also makes this distance special. The open landscape and views of the sea provide an impressive backdrop, while the slightly sloping roads make the course sporty but good to run.
The 10 km takes place in August, in pleasant temperatures around 10-15°C and with long daylight hours. Thanks to the combination of nature, city and a manageable distance, this is an ideal race for those who want to experience Reykjavik in an active and unforgettable way.
