Intro
The Reykjavik Half Marathon offers the same spectacular scenery as the full marathon, but over a more accessible distance. This half marathon is perfect for runners who want to experience the unique atmosphere of Reykjavik without running the full 42.2 kilometers.
Like the marathon, the race starts and finishes in the heart of the city. The course runs along idyllic Tjörnin, where the modern Reykjavik City Hall is a striking focal point. The route then heads toward the coastline, with sweeping views of the sea and fresh ocean air accompanying you along the way.
The passage through Seltjarnarnes is another absolute highlight. The open landscape and water views make for a special and soothing moment in the race. In between the natural panoramas you will discover the atmospheric streets of Reykjavik, with colorful houses and enthusiastic supporters along the side.
With pleasant summer temperatures and a clear, slightly undulating course, the Reykjavik Half Marathon is a perfect combination of nature, city and sports experience.
