Itinerary

Intro

The Athens Marathon is known as the authentic "Mother of Marathons." From the historic start in Marathon, you run along a challenging course toward the finish line at the impressive Panathinaikon Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place.

The course is undulating: after the first 10 kilometers, you follow a series of challenging elevation changes through the outskirts of Athens. With 10 kilometers to go, the course descends back toward the city, making the final kilometers particularly challenging both physically and mentally. The race can also be run as a Power Walk.

In addition to the marathon, a 10 km also starts on Sunday morning, the last 5 km of which runs on the marathon course. A 5 km is organized on Saturday. The beautiful finish in the Panathinaikon Stadium makes running over this historic and undulating course an unforgettable experience.
