Intro

You can’t get any closer to the origins. The Athens Marathon is known as the true “Mother of all Marathons” for good reason. Starting in the town of Marathon, the course follows a challenging route to the iconic finish in the Panathenaic Stadium, the site of the very first modern Olympic Games.
The route features a significant elevation gain starting after the 10 km mark. With 10 km to go, upon reaching the outskirts of Athens, the course begins to descend. This race can also be completed as a Power Walk. The stunning finish inside the Panathenaic Stadium more than makes up for the effort over the rolling terrain!
Also on Sunday morning, the 10K takes place, with the final 5 km following the marathon course. On Saturday afternoon, there’s also a 5K race. If you’d like to take part, please let us know.
