Intro

The Vienna City Marathon has had a permanent place on the international marathon calendar since 1984 and is still growing in popularity every year. This marathon is known for its elegant atmosphere, excellent organization and beautiful route through the Austrian capital.

The course passes impressive sights such as the Vienna State Opera, palaces and wide boulevards that exude the grandeur of the city. The long straights make it possible to maintain a constant pace, while the crowds along the route provide additional motivation. The profile is mostly flat, with only a few slight elevation changes.

The finish line is at the imposing Rathaus, where thousands of spectators provide a warm and festive reception. The marathon takes place in April, with generally favorable temperatures around 8-15°C. The half marathon is also part of the marathon weekend, making Vienna a versatile and attractive destination for every runner.
