Intro

The TCS Amsterdam Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the Netherlands and is known for its fast, flat course and strong organization. Start and finish are in the iconic Olympic Stadium; a unique setting where you can feel the atmosphere even before your first kilometer.

The course follows parts of the historic Olympic route of 1928 and takes you through the city and the green countryside. You run along the Amstel River with stately homes and windmills, pass the Johan Cruijff ArenA, and through the heart of Amsterdam past the Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark. The alternation between city and nature, combined with enthusiastic spectators along the entire course, makes this a special experience.

The marathon takes place on Sunday, October 18, 2026 (start 09:00) with a time limit of 6:00. You can pick up your start number at the expo in RAI Amsterdam, the organization advises not to do this on Saturday due to crowds. The weather in October is usually ideal for running with an average of 7-14°C.

Organized by Le Champion, the marathon is part of the World Athletics Platinum Label series; an official seal of quality for top marathons worldwide. With start and finish at the stadium, a fast course and thousands of participants, this is the perfect marathon to attack your PR or just enjoy the city to the max. Highly recommended for any marathon runner.
