Intro

The Icefjord Midnight Half Marathon. Vast stretches of ice as far as the eye can see, rugged terrain, and spectacular icebergs sparkling in the midnight sun. Welcome to Greenland, in the town of Ilulissat, where a colorful landscape unfolds between the ancient Inuit ruins of Sermermiut and the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord. Ilulissat is a true winter wonderland, located about 300 km north of the Arctic Circle in Disko Bay, on Greenland’s west coast. It is the country’s third-largest town, with around 5,000 inhabitants. This may seem like a small number, but even more surprising is that there are almost as many sled dogs as people! Here, you’ll take part in a unique half marathon, surrounded at every step by breathtaking scenery.
