Intro
The Zurich Marató Barcelona is among the most popular city marathons in Europe and is known for its varied and atmospheric course right through the heart of the city. Start and finish are at the impressive Plaça d'Espanya, at the foot of Montjuïc hill - an iconic spot where the excitement can be felt even before the starting gun sounds.
The course takes you past world-famous landmarks such as the Sagrada Família, the Camp Nou stadium and the atmospheric Ramblas. After a slightly hilly run-up, the route is mostly flat, ensuring good chances for a great finishing time. The wide streets and enthusiastic spectators along the side will give you new energy every time.
The marathon is usually held in March, with an early start time and temperatures around 10-17°C - excellent conditions for a spring marathon. With its combination of culture, architecture and running comfort, this is a wonderful opportunity to discover Barcelona in a sporting way.
