Intro
One of Europe's most popular half marathons, the Hyundai Mitja Marató Barcelona attracts tens of thousands of runners to the Catalan capital each spring. With start and finish near the green Parc de la Ciutadella, you'll run a fast and attractive course that effortlessly combines city, beach and wide boulevards.
The route takes you towards the Sant Martí neighborhood and along the coast at Nova Mar Bella, where you will enjoy kilometers of views of the Mediterranean Sea. There are slight elevation changes at the beginning, but after that the course is mostly flat and great for a fast time. Along the way, you'll pass iconic sites like the Sagrada Família and run along wide avenues with plenty of room to find your own pace.
The half marathon traditionally takes place in February, when conditions are ideal for running with an average of 10-18°C. Thanks to the combination of a fast course, a lively atmosphere and pleasant spring weather, this is a perfect race to sharpen your PR while fully enjoying Barcelona.
